NepalI men's football team climbs two spots up in latest FIFA Ranking released by FIFA today. Nepal were at 188th position for the month of August and with 2 spots up, Nepal are at 186th position in the FIFA Ranking. The ranking of Nepal has improved. However, the total points has decreased. Previous month, it was 77 and for this month, Nepal has only 74 points. This indicates that Nepal's ranking is affected by worse performance of other nation. Similarly, Nepal remain at fifth position in South Asia whereas, India is still the king of SA. India lies at 148 whereas there is Afghanistan just a spot below. Similarly, Maldives are at 165 and Bangladesh are at 185th position. Bhutan are at 189, Sri Lanka at 193rd and Pakistan at 194th.
In past several years, Nepal is unable to go up than 180 in FIFA ranking. Though, FIFA ranking doesn't matter a lot but it matters for us. We are always being trailed other minnow nations. Earlier, the governing body of Nepal, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has promised to provide atleast a friendly match but it has been 4 months since we last played a friendly. Qho should be responsible for these downfall?
What should be done?
